Healthy Omaha – OMNE Chiropractic

Omaha Sports Chiropractor

Welcome to the first installment of an ongoing blog series where we highlight local businesses that make our community healthier. What better place to start than with my business! I want to give credit to Dr. Chris Lorang of Capital Chiropractic and Rehabilitation in Des Moines, Iowa.  Healthy Omaha is not an original idea but is adapted from an amazing blog series Chris was able to pull off in Des Moines titled “Our Healthy Community”. Props to Chris!

Read on to learn more about me and OMNE Chiropractic:

Tell us a little about your business and how you got started.

A sports chiropractic clinic for the athlete and their family focusing on treatment of pain and injury in the joints, muscles, and nerves of the spine and extremities. My business was formed in November 2017 after a meeting with former boss and mentor, Corey Campbell, as we discussed the future of both of our practices. After two years of working for Omaha Spine and Sport as an associate doctor, I was ready to take on more responsibility and my role switched from employee to independent contractor.  It was a win-win, and I am extremely grateful of Corey for the seamless transition and for continuing to house OMNE Chiropractic.

How has it evolved since you started?

The first year I focused on all the back end business stuff as I continued to grow my practice under Omaha Spine and Sport. It has evolved recently as I have been doing more branding and marketing as OMNE Chiropractic. In fact, we just launched our website, Google listing, and Facebook page earlier this year. We even have T-shirts!

As a chiropractor, my practice continues to evolve as I learn new things both from my patients and ongoing education. One of the biggest things I have learned is: Talk less and listen more.

How do you help people?

I get to help people every day get out of pain so they can do what they love. Everyone has aches and pains but most of the time they don’t seek help until it keeps them from doing something they enjoy.  Listening to the patient to find that something is the important part because it allows us to set a goal. The goal may be to continue playing a sport and other times  it may be caring for their kids. We have a wide variety of patients at the clinic and that is what makes work challenging and engaging.

What gets you up in the morning?

It is usually my ten month old daughter or dog! Honestly, I don’t have much trouble getting up in the morning as long as there is coffee close.  I am excited to get into the clinic and I start seeing patients at 7 a.m. most days. Owning a business and growing a chiropractic practice is energizing and there is always something to get done. I started taking Wednesdays off a year ago and it is a day I get to put the business on hold and be dad. It also gives me a day to get that other stuff done like laundry, unload the dishwasher, and pick up groceries.  It helps me recharge so I can be fresh in the clinic for my patients.  Not to mention it is pretty fun having my daughter to myself all day.

What do you love about the Omaha community?

Omaha is the perfect sized city for us! It is big enough that there is plenty of opportunities for things to do but also small enough that it still feels homey. The Omaha food scene is a big plus as well. My wife and I love to try new restaurants and Omaha has no shortage of great food. I am living my dream job: Full time chiropractor, part time foodie. We have some local chefs that come into the clinic, and I was a little star struck at first!

What is next?

Continue to grow OMNE Chiropractic! I’m starting my fourth year as a chiropractor so there is definitely room for growth as I continue to share how the clinic is different from the traditional chiropractic approach and why that may be just what people need.  I am looking to grow the influence with local sports teams and continue working with Creighton University.

How can people find you?

OMNE Chiropractic is located inside Omaha Spine and Sport. We are located at 156th and Pacific, next to Mama’s Pizza. Follow along with our blog and our Facebook page. If you want to see cute pictures of my daughter and wife then follow my Instagram too!
